BCCT Insight: Thailand’s International Education and Youth

BCCT Insight: Thailand’s International Education and Youth: Trends, Analysis, Dreams and Realities

The BCCT Education Working Group, together with the British Council, recently hosted BCCT Insight: Thailand’s International Education and Youth: Trends, Analysis, Dreams and Realities, bringing together education leaders to explore key trends shaping international education and youth in Thailand. 🎓

The session highlighted education policy, international schools, transnational education and student mobility, alongside the launch of the British Council’s Next Generation Thailand research, exploring the hopes, aspirations and challenges of 2,000 young people across Thailand.

We were pleased to have Greg Watkins MBE, representing the British Chamber of Commerce Thailand (BCCT), deliver the opening remarks and contribute to the Q&A, alongside an excellent line-up of speakers:

• Sarah Rogerson, Country Director, British Council
• Dr. Matthew Sheade, Senior Justice and Youth Engagement Advisor, British Council
• Chanya Kim Tangsuk, Head of Higher Education Programmes, East Asia, British Council
A sincere thank you to Danny Whitehead for initiating this valuable session, and to the British Council team; Uraiwan Samolee, Pattanavimol Israngkura and Weerapol Chotikapraklan for their support and collaboration in bringing the event together.

We would also like to extend our appreciation to our sponsors, Bangkok Prep International School, represented by Duncan Stonehouse and Edouard Belzung, and University of Leicester represented by Tien Tien for their generous support.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed their perspectives to the conversation on education trends, international education and the future of young people in Thailand and the UK.

We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again at our next BCCT Insight.
