Bangkok, 2nd May 2025 – Regent’s International School, one of Thailand’s most distinguished educational institutions, marked its 30th anniversary with a spectacular celebration at the Main Auditorium of the Thailand Cultural Centre. The occasion underscored the school’s longstanding commitment to British-style international education and its mission to nurture Thai and international youth into confident global citizens.

The event was presided over by Dr Virachai Techavijit, Founder, Owner, and Chairman of the Regent’s group, who was joined by the Techavijit family, senior leadership, faculty, alumni, and esteemed guests from both Thailand and abroad. Together, they commemorated the school’s enduring legacy and international achievements.

Three decades of excellence were brought to life through a stirring programme featuring performances by 500 students from both the Bangkok and Pattaya campuses. The evening celebrated the school’s distinct approach to education, blending academic rigour with creativity and innovation — the very ethos of Regent’s.

In his address, Dr Virachai reflected on the school’s proud history of guiding students to prestigious universities across the globe — including Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, Imperial, Yale, UCLA, Stanford and Chicago — a testament to the school’s uncompromising academic standards. More than simply building a school, he said, the aim was to lay the foundation for the future of young people in Thailand and beyond. Regent’s, he added, is “not merely a school, but a second home — a launching pad to the world stage.” Many alumni have gone on to serve their nations at the highest levels, including as ministers, scientists, social advocates and legal professionals.

He also extended heartfelt thanks to Ms Amos Turner-Wardell (Principal, Pattaya Campus), Mr Andy Edmonds (Principal, Bangkok Campus), and former school leaders whose contributions have helped maintain the school’s tradition of excellence.

The warmth of the evening was further elevated by the attendance of high-profile alumni and parents from the worlds of entertainment, business, and media, including Panisara Arayasakul (Opal), Smith Arayasakul (Oak), Sawitree Sutthichanon (Bo), Pisanu Nimsakul (Boy), and Natt Thephasadin na Ayudhya with Bom Thonawanik. They shared fond memories and heartfelt congratulations for the school that shaped their formative years.

From its humble beginnings in Pattaya in 1994, Regent’s has grown steadily, establishing a campus in Bangkok in 2000 and a third in Langsuan in 2022. Today, the school serves over 2,000 students representing more than 50 nationalities.

A key strength of Regent’s lies in its exceptional teaching staff, with the majority holding QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) from the United Kingdom. The school follows the British national curriculum through to A Levels and also offers the International Baccalaureate (IB), both of which encourage intellectual curiosity, analytical thinking, and leadership development. These foundations are further enriched by partnerships with world-renowned institutions such as MIT, the Juilliard School, Nord Anglia, and Round Square.

The school’s facilities are second to none, featuring Olympic-size swimming pools, all-weather football pitches, golf simulation rooms, multimedia libraries, and multi-purpose halls — all designed to support holistic student development. In response to growing demand from modern families, both campuses are planning further expansion.

Thirty years of Regent’s represents a journey defined by excellence, ambition, and vision — and the school looks to the future with confidence as a cornerstone of international education in Thailand.
