Savor the Fresh Flavors of the Monsoon at The Siam Tea Room

Bangkok, Thailand, 24 July 2024 – The monsoon season is a wonderful revitalizing time of year in Thailand. As rivers and waterfalls start to flow and the seasonal rains nourish the soil, the kingdom’s rice fields, vegetable farms, herb gardens and fruit orchards all burst into life, creating a bounty of fresh produce.

To celebrate the arrival of the rainy season, The Siam Tea Room, the authentic Thai restaurant and casual café at Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, has crafted a series of special dishes using ingredients that flourish during these lush months. With the “Monsoon Flavors” promotion, guests can escape the rain and rediscover six ancient Thai recipes – five savory and one sweet – that showcase the bounty of Mother Nature and highlight rare ingredients.

Lovers of traditional Thai cuisine can savor a choice of light yet spicy appetizers, including paco fern salad with minced pork, shrimp and crispy shallots (THB 310), and shrimp paste chili dip with season vegetables and fried Thai mackerel (THB 320). Unusual herbs and vegetables will be incorporated into dishes such as stir-fried cowslip creeper flowers with salted egg and white shrimp (THB 320), and sour soup with Thai mackerel, sesbania flowers and sea catfish roe (THB 480), and a Thai classic is infused with the flavors of the rainy season with our green curry with free-range chicken and young bamboo shoots (THB 350).

Finally, guests seeking a highly original sweet treat to end their meal can opt for Siam Tea Room’s millet pudding with stewed bread fruit and coconut ice cream (THB 210).

The Monsoon Flavors promotion will be available from 1 August to 30 September 2024 at The Siam Tea Room’s city branch in the heart of Sukhumvit, located on the ground floor of Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park.
