Celebrate the Winter Solstice with a Sublime Set Menu and Auspicious Abalone Dishes at Pagoda Chinese Restaurant

Bangkok, Thailand, 20 November 2023 – Pagoda Chinese Restaurant, the award-winning Cantonese dining destination at Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, is inviting hotel guests and local residents to celebrate the winter solstice with a series of special festive dishes that will surprise the senses and tantalize the taste buds.

Falling annually on 22^nd December 2023, the winter solstice is the longest night of the year and is often celebrated in China with traditional festivities and family dinners. During these heartfelt get-togethers, a series of special dishes are shared to symbolize reunion.

To mark this important occasion, Chef Oscar Pun, Pagoda Chinese Restaurant’s Cantonese culinary expert, has crafted a celebratory set menu using auspicious ingredients such as abalone and grouper, which represent prosperity, and chicken which signifies a positive end to the year. All nine delectable dishes have also been crafted for their health-giving qualities.

This sublime Winter Solstice Set Menu commences with an Assorted BBQ Platter, followed by Marinated Abalone & Jellyfish with Sichuan Dressing, Soy Sauce Chicken, Honey-Glazed BBQ Pork, and Stewed Abalone with Winter Melon and Scallops. Diners can then savor a trio of mouth-watering main courses: Hong Kong-style BBQ Crispy Chicken, Hong Kong-style Steamed Grouper, and Steamed Mud Crab with Sticky Rice in a Lotus Leaf. The special meal wraps up with a divine dessert of Sweet Almond Milk with Rice Dumplings. The Set Menu is only available on Friday 22^nd December 2023, priced at just THB 6,800++ per set.
