DMHT supports business to reopen in Phase 4 of eased lockdown with supply of hand sanitizers and reopen guidelines booklets

Bangkok, 18 June 2020 – Diageo Moët Hennessy (Thailand) or DMHT, a leader in premium wines and spirits, is providing more than 26,000 liters of hand sanitizers worth 2.5 million baht to trade partners nationwide for businesses that have reopened after Thailand entered Phase 4 of eased lockdown, and those that are preparing to resume operations after the government relaxed the lockdown measures. DMHT’s support also includes the provision of reopening and operations guidelines booklets during the COVID-19 outbreak, to help ensure maximum hygienic service standards and consumers’ peace of mind. These activities are a part of DMHT’s efforts under the ‘Returning Together’ initiative, which aims to support DMHT’s and partners’ businesses to be able to resume operations responsibly, efficiently, and sustainably.

Since the government announced the easing of lockdown measures to control and prevent the transmission of COVID-19, small and big businesses have been preparing sanitation measures and adopted service practices that are in line with consumers’ growing demands for hygiene and the guidelines of the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA). This includes social-distance seating, temperature checks before entering premises, and supplying sufficient hand sanitizers throughout entire stores. DMHT is providing over 26,000 liters of alcohol-based hand sanitizers for in-store usage to more than 1,000 trade partners nationwide, to support our partners’ business efforts and the hospitality industry in this trying time.

Alberto Ibeas, Managing Director, Diageo Moët Hennessy (Thailand), said: “Many businesses have been impacted by COVID-19, including the alcoholic beverage industry. DMHT would like to actively extend support that helps our partners smoothly resume their operations and promote their business continuity after the lockdown has been eased. Previously, Diageo donated alcohol raw material, which was processed into hand sanitizers for front-line healthcare workers when the pandemic was at its critical point. This time, DMHT’s efforts are focused on business recovery as the domestic situation continuously improves.”

In addition, DMHT has prepared reopening and operations guidelines for outlets about safety measures during the COVID-19 pandemic to support the government’s policies. The guidelines aim to help business owners train staff, shops to heighten hygiene and safety measures, and ensure confidence among consumers. Some of the guidelines include: making cleaning schedules for areas inside and around the premises, placing alcohol hand sanitizers around the premises, checking the temperature of staff and customers, ensuring that protective equipment is worn, defining how to safely prepare food and beverages, how to provide services hygienically, and how to communicate with customers via various channels, and many more.  

These support measures are parts of DMHT’s ongoing ‘Returning Together’ initiative that aims to provide commercial support to customers, business partners, and the Thai hospitality industry. The COVID-19 pandemic may have caused a huge impact to our way of life, economy, and society both at an individual and business level, but through collaboration, everyone will be able to move forward. DMHT is ready to take part in encouraging businesses and the hospitality industry to strive forward together.
