BCCT Insight
Taxation Liabilities of International Schools in Thailand – Recent Developments

The BCCT Legal & Tax Group is pleased to invite you to an insightful evening exploring recent developments in the taxation of international schools in Thailand on Thursday 2nd July 2026, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at BCCT Office.

Tax exemption for international schools (Formal Schools) income does not equate to simplicity, particularly when navigating mixed income streams, payments to owners or licensors, and the unique structural features of Formal Schools.

Recently, the Thai Revenue Department has been increasing scrutiny on tax liabilities and the exemption status of international schools. This session explores the regulatory framework for international schools and developments in tax assessments on the sector.

This session will examine the key tax challenges facing international schools in Thailand and provide practical guidance on navigating an increasingly complex regulatory environment. The presentation will be followed by an interactive discussion, allowing participants to explore current issues, share experiences, and gain valuable insights from industry specialists.

For the purposes of this session, the discussion is focused on privately owned, for-profit international schools and does not extend to foundation trust schools.

Key Topics:

  • Application of tax exemptions in practice
  • Distinguishing exempt vs. taxable income
  • Income payments to owners and licensors
  • VAT and withholding tax exposures
  • Recent developments in tax assessments on the sector

Who Should Attend:

  • School owners and senior management
  • CFOs and finance directors
  • Tax and finance professionals
  • Advisors working with the education sector

Don't miss this opportunity to gain practical insights and stay ahead of the latest developments affecting international schools in Thailand.
