International Knowledge Transfer Network: Virtual Workshop

BCCT members are invited to join an exclusive International Knowledge Transfer Networking workshop on Disruptive Technologies and Sustainable Growth: Navigating the Innovation Paradox in Thailand. The event will explore how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and disruptive technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), 6G, and Edge Computing are transforming the future of sustainable development across the globe.

Thailand is at a pivotal moment in its digital journey. With rapid urbanisation, investment in smart cities, and a thriving startup ecosystem, the country is ideally placed to lead in areas like:

  • Smart agriculture and food security
  • Green energy and circular economy
  • Digital finance and fintech inclusion
  • Smart transport and logistics
  • AI-powered healthcare and social innovation

We’ll dive into how these developments will influence growth in Thailand and transform its industries.

In Europe, the European Commission is currently investing €1 billion per year through its Horizon Research programme into AI while allocating €130 million to advance 6G technologies. These investments aim to exploit the unprecedented opportunities these disruptive technologies have for driving economic growth, enhancing digital inclusion, and accelerating the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Hosted by the University of Bradford, in partnership with the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) and the British Chamber of Commerce, this inaugural workshop in Thailand will bring together experts, policymakers, and researchers to discuss how AI-driven automation, real-time data analytics, and hyper-connectivity are revolutionising vertical industry sectors.

With Thailand’s rapid urbanisation and digital transformation, adopting these technologies is crucial for fostering a resilient and inclusive economy while addressing pressing environmental challenges.

The workshop will highlight the role of AI and IoT in advancing the circular economy—minimising waste, optimising resource use, and promoting sustainable business models.

Short expert masterclasses will be followed by a panel discussion to reflect on how Thailand and other emerging economies in Southeast Asia can navigate the transition to Industry 5.0—integrating responsible AI and next-gen connectivity to ensure long-term prosperity while reducing inequalities.

Whether you’re a business leader, policymaker, academic, student, or entrepreneur, this workshop will provide valuable insights into how disruptive technologies are driving sustainable growth and equip you with the knowledge needed to align your strategic goals with the future of innovation.
