Why South East Asia? With a growth rate of 5.5% in 2022 (ADB), Southeast Asia is one of the fastest-growing regions, rich in natural resources, and skilled labour, and supported by a regional Free Trade Agreement. The diversity of markets and business opportunities makes it a prime area for export growth across sectors.

If ASEAN were a single country, it would already be the seventh-largest economy in the world. With a projected annual growth rate of over 5.5% per year, ASEAN is forecast to overtake the EU and Japan to become the 4th largest economy in the world by 2050, behind China, India and the United States  (US-ASEAN Business Council Inc/McKinsey & Company).

The British Chambers of Commerce in Thailand and Indonesia, in collaboration with HSBC, the UK-ASEAN Business Council (UKABC) and the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) are delighted to present this morning session on business opportunities in South East Asia’s two largest economies.
