We are writing to invite you to this BCCT event.

The event will discuss the LTR (Long Term Resident) visa. This new visa concept commenced in September 2021.

It is therefore an opportune time to understand the benefits and requirements for this special visa and consider its benefits and requirements when compared with other existing visas that are available.

Our expert speaker will be Kantarot Laopradith, Director of the Expatriate Service Division from the Board of Investment.

The LTR visa is available to foreigners in four categories as follows:

  1. Wealthy foreigners
  2. Wealthy pensioners
  3. Work from Thailand professionals
  4. Highly skilled professionals

Applicants within each category are entitled to different benefits, and must satisfy different criteria. The employer of a person in category 3 or 4 must also fulfil certain criteria,

The spouse and children of an applicant must also meet certain requirements.

There are health insurance obligations to be observed.

There are different Thai income tax concessions to which each of the four categories of applicants are eligible.

On the positive side, all applicants are eligible to claim the following rights:

  • A five-year visa, followed by a second five-year visa
  • Where the applicants work for a Thai company, a waiver from the usual rule that a company must employ four Thais for every foreigner employed
  • Applicants need only report their address annually, instead of every 90 days
  • A multiple re-entry visa
  • Exemption from the requirement to obtain a work permit
  • Use of the One Stop Service Centre to process their visa

Our expert speaker will explain carefully the different benefits available for each category of applicant,  and the different requirements that each category of applicant is subject to.

We look forward to seeing you at this most interesting event.
