BCCT members have previously elected board directors through voting on the day at a physical AGM and advance votes. Due to the virtual nature of the AGM this year, voting will be conducted online using ‘Election Runner’. Our thanks to our friends and colleagues at AMCHAM Thailand for their advice and support. Direct from ‘Election Runner’, the main representative in each member company will receive an invitation to vote for a maximum 7 board directors and vote for or against the proposed changes to the constitution. Instructions are available on the ballot page once you have access to vote online. Please make every effort to ensure that you or a representative of your company exercise your right to vote.

The main changes to the BCCT constitution proposed by the board cover term limits for board directors (4 consecutive years) and officers (2 consecutive years). The board notes that change promotes diversity and is important for the vitality of the chamber. It is key that the board is open to those who wish to contribute. It is also good governance for organisations to change their Non-Executive Directors on a regular basis. Effectively, those serving longer terms who wish to return to the board would need to take one year out before standing again. Other proposed changes cover electronic voting and routine points such as the change of the BCCT office address. Marked up and clean versions of the constitution may be accessed at the link on point 5 of the agenda above.
