Speakers:

Ian Betts: with over 25 years of experience in Asia, Ian is Hill & Associates’ Country Manager of Hill Risk Consulting for Thailand, Director for Mainland Southeast Asia, and Head of Risk Intelligence. Ian joined Hill & Associates in Indonesia in 2007, serving as Country Manager there until 2014 when he relocated to London as Global Head of Risk Analysis for G4S. In 2017 he returned to lead the company’s operations in Thailand and the region from Bangkok, managing a team of analysts throughout Asia. A published author, Ian provides expertise and strategic consulting on a broad spectrum of risk and security fields. Fluent in Danish and Indonesian, Ian has a B.A. (Hons) in the Humanities and an M.A. in International Studies.

Michael Wanliss: Mike has many years experience in Retail in the UK with Kingfisher and for 8 years as Retail Director of the Co-operative Pharmacy. In 2011 Mike moved to Dubai where he led the development and growth of Boots Pharmacies in 6 Countries across the Gulf. In Jan 2019 He arrived in Bangkok to take on the role of Managing Director of Boots Thailand. Mike is a keen golfer and life long Stoke City supporter.

Jon Standen: Jon Standen relocated to Thailand in January 2019 to assume the position of head master at Harrow International School Bangkok. He has held two similar posts, first at The Crypt School, England which became a national teaching school and Jon was recognized as a National Leader of Education. He later joined Plymouth College, an independent day and boarding school, becoming Chairman of the Southwest England division of the Headmasters’ and Headmistresses’ Conference. A graduate of the University of Nottingham, he is married to Suzie and they enjoy outdoor sports.
