Event Overview

The Friends of Myanmar event is a unique celebration of Myanmar’s rich culture, combining fine dining, art, and wine. Guests will experience a fusion of Myanmar cuisine with French flair and Anglo-Burmese influences, prepared by renowned chefs. The evening will also feature an exclusive art display with selected pieces available for auction, alongside carefully curated wine pairings.

Culinary Experience:

Chef Htun Htun (@chef_htun_htun), former head chef at Le Cellier, Novotel Yangon Max, blends French culinary techniques with Myanmar traditions for a harmonious fusion of flavors. Lady Goo Goo (@_ladygoogoo_) adds a modern twist to Anglo-Burmese recipes, using local ingredients and innovative techniques to create a fresh take on Myanmar’s cuisine. Together, they will craft a dining experience that highlights the diversity of Myanmar’s culinary heritage.

Art Display and Auction:

An exclusive art display, curated by Marie-Pierre Mol of Intersections Gallery, will feature select works from Myanmar’s contemporary art scene. These pieces will be available for auction, offering guests a chance to acquire art that bridges cultures.

Wine Pairings by Ottara Pyne:

Ottara Pyne (@amarottara), Burmese-American sommelier from Wine Garage, will expertly select wines to pair with each dish, ensuring the perfect complement to every course.

  Charcoal-grilled eggplant with river prawn and garlic chip

Main Course

• Lobster
  Lobster tail with coconut curry gravy, curry leaves, and chilli oil

  Spiced pork belly with green apple
• Beef
  Slow-cooked beef in Burmese spices, with potato mille-feuille and braised butter bean
