Mentoring
Founded in 1946, the BCCT is the oldest foreign Chamber and the largest European Chamber in Thailand. In addition, it is the largest and oldest British Chamber in Asia. Today, the BCCT has a membership of more than 600 companies, covering a broad cross-section of business interests in Thailand. Membership has increased by more than 65% in the last five years. OverviewThe British Chamber of Commerce Thailand (BCCT) and the British Embassy in Bangkok are combining expertise and resources to present a new joint programme to assist British companies new to Thailand to successfully gain entry to the marketplace. The programme will match companies with Thailand-based business executives who are experienced in the market, know your sector and can pass on the benefit of their knowledge and expertise. How will it work?You will be given access to in-country experts (mentors) in a wide range of sectors. All of these are industry executives who are offering their time and expertise over a defined period of time - either three or six months. Sectors covered by Thailand business experts could include: automotive, consultancy, food, education, environment, HR and recruitment, IT, insurance, legal, manufacturing, oil, property, publishing, retail, security, trading, training, transport and shipping. The BCCT's SME Working Group has also formed a sub-group of mentors to help SMEs in the UK overcome issues of particular relevance to smaller companies. In practical terms, you will receive: valuable information and guidance on a business-to-business level from individuals with intimate knowledge of Thai market conditions development of stronger contacts with the business community through the BCCT and UK Trade & Investment enhanced efficiency in terms of faster more efficient, cost-effective and successful entry into the Thai market.
