About the Speakers:
FERGUS EVANS is the Managing Director of Clifford Chance in Thailand. He has worked for Clifford Chance since 1993 in London, Hanoi, Hong Kong and Bangkok and he specialises in banking, asset finance and leasing including tax driven structures and export credit backed transactions. He has advised clients on various types of financing including syndicated lending, aircraft and asset financing and project financing.

DOUGLAS D. MANCILL is a Senior Counsel at PriceSanond and has worked in Thailand since 1998. Before his secondment to Thailand, he worked for 13 years in the San Francisco office of Graham & James (which was absorbed into Squire Patton Boggs, LLP), six years as a partner. He represents a wide-range of U.S., Japanese and European clients with operations and subsidiaries in Thailand on commercial and corporate matters, anti-corruption matters and investigations, and international dispute resolution matters. He has written and spoken widely on various legal matters in Asia and the U.S., including anti-corruption compliance and laws. He regularly conducts anti-corruption investigations and advises on compliance measure. He is chair of the Legal Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand. He graduated from U.C. Berkeley with his J.D., and has been in admitted to practice law in California since 1984.

MICHAEL RAMIREZ, a senior consultant in the dispute resolution group of Tilleke & Gibbins’ Bangkok office, assists major international clients in a range of domestic and international disputes, including product liability, employment, customs and excise, and transportation and logistics. Michael serves as a client advisor on the strategic aspects of claims management for international litigation, cross-jurisdictional disputes, and compliance with local and foreign anti-corruption laws, including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).
Michael previously led the firm’s Myanmar practice, overseeing client services in the region, where he worked with local and regional Myanmar attorneys in advising clients on commercial and dispute resolution matters in the country.
Supplementing Michael’s practice is his representation of clients in arbitration and mediation. This experience includes representation in regional enforcement proceedings, as well as acting with a team of litigators in domestic and international claims resolution. Michael is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
