Objectives

1. Encourage attendance and participation in the Working Group activities by working group members, and new joiners to the working group.
2. Provide knowledge and information on updates on Thai laws and regulations that may be of interest to BCCT members. 
3. Liaise with BCCT staff and other BCCT working group to provide technical support and updates on legal and tax matters as needed.

Plans in 2026:

1. Bi-monthly working group meeting to plan for event and activities and obtain updates on legal and tax developments from working group members.
2. Target for 6 events to be held for BCCT members covering various areas of legal and tax developments (e.g., labour, investment, foreign investment, tax, property, immigration, etc.). 

Planned Events in 2026:

1. Session with BOI for updates in investment promotions and incentives in 2026;
2. Seminar / workshop to update on business laws and taxation;
3. Seminar / workshop on employment law;
4. Intellectual Property/ Intellectual Property and AI;
5. Seminar / workshop on updates to Thai and UK personal income tax for expatriates;
6. Potential session to litigation and arbitration;
7. Potential session on updates to work permit and stay visa changes and developments.

The events will be further finalised and confirm with the meetings and BCCT.

Routine support with BCCT advocacy working group and BCCT staff by providing technical support on laws and regulations, co-attending meetings with government agencies.

·         Report 2024 – Activities during 2024 focussed on two areas, both reflecting current government proprieties:

o    Visa changes and visa expansion

o    The expansion of the reach of the Revenue Department into international taxation, making income earned overseas taxable by the Thai Revenue Department in cases where the taxpayer is Thai tax resident.
