The BCCT is delighted to welcome Dr. Gothom Arya, Director, Mahidol University Research Center for Peace Building and Chairman, National Economic and Social Advisory Council and Secreatry of the National Reconciliation Commission as guest speaker at this special luncheon.

Dr. Gothom received his Engineering Doctorate in 1969 from the University of Paris the same year that he joined Chulalongkorn University as Associate Professor in Electrical Engineering. Among his many positions at Chula he was Chairman of Faculty Senate from 1978-79 and also member of Chulalongkorn University Council twice in 1978 and 1998. He was Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering from 1983-87. He was Director of the Institute of Technology for Rural Development from 1994-97.

Dr Gothom was also PollWatch Secretary from 1992-96, Election Commissioner in 1998 and Registrar of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) from 2001-03.

Dr. Gothom is the recipient of three distinctions, Knight Grand Cordon (special Class) of the most exalted order of the white elephant. He was also one of the 50 leaders dubbed Stars of Asia by Business Week on 3rd July 2000.
